Equal on points and goal difference with Austria, it’s a winner takes all clash with second-place on the line. So win, and Ukraine can guarantee a place in the round-of-16.
A draw will see them tie for second with Austria, with both teams presumably qualifying for the knockouts.
A loss however and Ukraine will be left to hope they qualify from third, assuming North Macedonia doesn’t upset the Netherlands.
Austria
Austria’s equation is identical to Ukraine’s.
Win, and they guarantee a spot in the round-of-16.
Draw, and the chance of qualifying are in their favour.
Lose, and they can only hope they get through from third, as long as they stay above North Macedonia.
North Macedonia
On zero points, the odds are against North Macedonia progressing past the group stage.
Lose or draw against the undefeated Netherlands, and it’s tournament over.
Win, and there’s a chance they could jump into third if Austria or Ukraine loses. North Macedonia’s goal difference is three worse than both of those nations, so they’d need to win (or either of those side’s lose) by enough to overcome that.
If this eventuated, and North Macedonia finished third, they’d have a chance of qualifying for the round-of-16, but it would ultimately depend on other groups.
