EXCLUSIVE: AFL Crowds set to be locked out in Melbourne

The Sporting Landscape can exclusively reveal that just after lunchtime today, MCG contractors were told there won't be spectators at the footy at the MCG this weekend.


The shattering news comes amidst a tumultuous period for not just the AFL but Victoria in general.

With six new COVID-19 cases recorded in the state today, the current outbreak has grown to 15 cases, with fears of a snap-lockdown growing.

Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport, and Major Events Martin Pakula said this morning that crowds would be able to attend AFL games in Melbourne.


But as we've learnt, the COVID situation can change by the hour, and that's what's happened today.
