About Me
Hi. I'm Mitch Bourke, I'm 19, and I created The Sporting Landscape back in 2020.
For as long as I can remember, I've loved sport. I don't know what it is, but I'm drawn to it. The connection, the drama, the stories. All of it. And once it dawned on me I wasn't going to make it as a professional cricketer, I figured working in sports media would be the next best thing.
So I started The Sporting Landscape, and for the last few years it's been an outlet for me to write a variety of sports content, such as match previews and reports, opinion pieces, interviews, and much more.
I've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to write feature interviews and cover local footy and cricket, including the DDCA Turf 1 grand final, for the Herald Sun's Leader Local Sport division. I've also worked for rugby league site Nothing but League covering NRL games, and been published on other sites including The Roar. I'm excited to be taking up a role with Casey Radio this year, working on their VFL, VFLW, and AFLW coverage.
Now I operate as a freelance sports journalist, and of course I'm trying to grow The Sporting Landscape brand. I've got some big ideas, including a few podcasts which will be coming soon. If you want to come along for the ride, you can follow The Sporting Landscape on Facebook and Instagram, and subscribe to our newsletter.
And if you have a story you want told, covered and shared, or would like to use my services, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
